Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of techniques such as light effleurage, kneading, stretching, and deep, slow pressure. to help the body and mind relax. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, and greater flexibility.
Chair massage is a convenient method for relieving stress and tension. I can come to your home or workplace or you can come to me. Group rates are available for businesses, workshops, and conferences - or your writer's club!
You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which supports your arms, legs, and head comfortably. This modality is especially beneficial for tension in the head, neck and back. Chair massage is done over the clothing so you can avoid the awkwardness that some feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, so it's easier to fit one into your schedule.
Mat massage is done on a thick Shiatsu mat while fully clothed. Usually this is done outdoors on the open deck with views of woods and meadow. Gentle pressure, rocking and stretches are used with carefully selected music. Cranio-sacral may be employed if requested. Energy work is also available by request. Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing such as pajamas or sweats.
Seasonally available, hydrotherapy employs warm water, oils and essential oils, hot compresses and wraps. For a limited time during the summer, you may spend an hour on my delightful secluded deck, enjoying the benefits of pure well-water and warm touch. Herbal teas are available while resting after your massage.
A warm foot-soak, followed by deep massage of feet. Since the muscles of the feet extend up the leg, this massage includes the lower leg. Please wear clothing that can be rolled up or lifted to expose the leg to the knee. Complementary green tea is available during this massage.
